Our Topics this term are:

Writing
This term in English we will be writing a fantasy narrative based on 'Gorilla' by Anthony Browne and a diary entry based around the story of 'Leon and the place between' by Grahame Baker Smith and Angela McAllister.
In line with the New National Curriculum, we will be working regularly to improve our spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Reading
Children should read for 20 minutes each day at home, preferably to an adult. They should keep a record of their reading in their Reading Record and it should be signed by an adult. If they do this at least 4 times a week they will earn a point for their team! Please bring reading books back in to school each day.
Maths
This term we will be learning:
- Number: Place Value; Addition and Subtraction, Multiplication and division
- Measurement: Area
By the end of Year 4 Children should know all of their multiplication tables and division facts up to 12 so please support your child's learning of these. They can log on to Times Tables Rockstars and Timestables .co.uk
R.E
This term we will be investigating the Big Questions: 'How does believing Jesus is their Saviour inspire Christians to save and serve others?' and 'Why do Muslims call Muhammad the seal of the prophets?'
Homework
Mymaths homework will be set most weeks, the children all have their login details for this. Alongside this, children are expected to be reading at home regularly and learning their multiplication tables which has a big focus in Year 4. There are links at the bottom of this page for information about spellings and grammar that we cover in year 4.
Things to remember!
P.E- PE kits suitable for indoor and outdoor use should be in school at all times. Our PE slots are on Tuesday and Wednesday.
